Dear Parents / Guardians,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome your child to the 2022-2023 academic year. I am looking forward to a unique and productive year.
I will begin by giving you a little background information about myself. I have been an educator for fourteen years now. I obtained a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education from Tougaloo College, a Masters in Elementary Education from DePaul University, and a second Masters in Curriculum and Instructions from National Louis University with an endorsement in Special Education. I am a firm believer that education is an ongoing process and that failure is not an option! Therefore, I am continually looking for ways to improve myself in order to properly support students.
With that being said, as your child’s diverse learning teacher, I would work along-side the general education teacher to support your child in demonstrating success with his/her grade level standards, mastering growth with their individual goals outlined in their Individual Education Plan, and making the proper accommodations/modifications to support learning.
