Mr. Brough

 Welcome Back

Hello. I hope that you all find this letter in good spirits, and everyone is staying safe! My name is Joseph Brough, and I am the middle school math teacher here at Frank I. Bennett Elementary School. Born and raised here in Chicago, I know first hand what it is like to grow up as a student attending a CPS school. I attended Morse Elementary for grammar school, and Richard T. Crane for middle and high school, both located on the city’s west side. While attending CPS schools I encountered a variety of teachers, who instilled a great amount of dedication, hard work, and determination in me, that I plan to use to benefit my students in every way possible. Just like those teachers who inspired me, I want to be a leader in the classroom, and inspire my students to be better everyday.

I understand that starting a new school year can seem difficult, especially with all the uncertainty in the world these days. With the help of my peers, and the rest of the staff here at Bennett elementary, I plan for this to be a smooth transition and experience for everyone involved. I hope to build a relationship with the students and parents so that everyone may benefit, and get the results that they want, which is a great education for the students. I look forward to meeting all of the students and parents, and collaborating to have the best school year possible.
