Hi, my name is Artricia King. I started volunteering in the Chicago public School system when my kids were in the head start program. I was assigned to help in the kindergarten classroom. At that time, I did not have any school training. The teacher wanted me to help her students write their alphabets. I had chalk, a chalk board and a container of snacks as an incentive. I had many success stories. Seeing those children eager to learn started me on my journey.
While pursuing my education I have worked with developmentally delayed adults at Ada S. Mckinley, I have worked with infants and toddlers with drugs and alcohol in their system at Haymarket Center and I have worked at Chicago Lakeshore Hospital with children with behavior problems.
I have an AAS in Early Childhood Education with an Advanced Certificate in Special Education and I have my Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavior Science.
